Advanced Warehouse Deadline: 15 April Subject to change at the discretion of the drayage contractor.
U.S. Federal Holidays U.S. Customs is closed on all U.S. Federal Holidays. Plan your shipments accordingly.

ISF Filing (Ocean Shipments Only)

An ISF form must be emailed to or your sales representative 7 days prior to the vessel's departure.

$20,000 Fine for Non-Compliance U.S. Customs imposes fines up to $20,000 for failure to file or late filing of ISF.
Do NOT Tender to Carrier Without Approval Do not tender shipments to the carrier without prior approval from TWI. You will receive an ISF Transaction Number before proceeding.

Pre-Alert Requirements

Draft documents must be sent to your TWI representative and a minimum of 7 working days prior to shipment arrival.

Types of Customs Entries

A separate commercial invoice / packing list must be created for temporary and permanent items (shipped on separate HAWBs). Stand materials are NOT eligible for temporary import in the U.S.

Most Common

Consumption Entry

Duty-paid entry. Must be used for all stand fittings and permanent items.

Samples Only

Temporary Import Bond (TIB)

Only for product samples. U.S. Customs will not allow stand fittings under TIB.

International

ATA Carnet

Accepted by U.S. Customs for qualifying temporary imports.

Other Government Agencies

FDA — Laser Components A Radiation Control Form is required for all items containing laser diodes, LEDs, x-rays, and similar components.
FDA — Food & Beverage All documentation must be emailed to your TWI representative 2 weeks prior to departure for approval.

Wood Packing & Lacey Act

Solid Wood Packing Materials (IPPC / ISPM-15) All solid wood packing materials must be heat treated per IPPC standards and stamped accordingly. Non-treated pallets will need re-palletizing at the exhibitor's additional cost.
Lacey Act Compliance Products made of wood (especially furniture) require a Plant and Plant Product Declaration Form. Ensure you complete and submit the Lacey Act Form with your shipment documentation.

Insurance

Important Disclaimer TWI is NOT responsible for loss, theft, or damage while goods are unattended.

Exhibitors are strongly recommended to secure insurance coverage for all shipments. TWI can offer total insurance coverage — contact your representative for details.

Payment of Charges

All transportation, customs clearance, and delivery charges must be paid within 30 days of the movement.
